AMERICA the poem

#1 by Elisha , Tue Feb 18, 2020 9:24 am

When i think about America i pick up a pen and write
When i think about America i think of myself as a man of great might
Her rare scenery like the Grand canyon
Her uplifting landmarks like Sabino canyon
America's beauty can be rough like the cactus and the desert plains
America's refreshing can be timely like the summer dew or rains
"OUTSIDE IT'S AMERICA",said Bono the Irishman
"I'm an Englishman in New York,"said Sting the Englishman
The accent of America denotes authority
The great men of the earth,America is the majority
I've seen her in photos,i've seen her on video
And now i've got to see her face to face
Her historic features like the Abraham Lincoln Memorial that cover time and space
America is a first fruit in things that can be
This means there is also hope for me

When i think about America i see a nation that we all can see
When i think about America i get inspired to be what i want to be
Americans live it
Others fantasize it

When i think about America i think of dreams coming true
When i think about America i know i can do it too
A land that does not measure you by creed or race
It's all up to you, your talent and your pace
